With a list of local employers provided by Phoebe, Dakota carefully selected her top four choices. Through her perseverance and Phoebe's guidance, Dakota secured a six-week work experience position at the Café on McCoy. Employer Wendy Bell eagerly embraced the opportunity to create an inclusive and welcoming workplace for Dakota.

Throughout her time at Café on McCoy, Dakota eagerly learned new skills and embraced new experiences. From mastering the art of creating mouth-watering fruit salads to confidently operating the barista machine, Dakota's dedication and enthusiasm were evident in every task.

She left a lasting impression with her exceptional customer service, earning praise from both her colleagues and patrons. Upon the completion of her work experience, Dakota experienced significant personal and professional growth.

Building on her remarkable progress, Dakota is thrilled to embark on her next adventure and has secured another six-week work experience opportunity at the esteemed Waikerie Hotel Motel.

This time, Dakota will be taking on the role of a kitchenhand, further expanding her skill set and embracing fresh challenges. The ongoing support from local businesses showcases the immense impact that inclusive practices can have on individuals with disabilities.
